Ingredients of Naan Khataai
- You need 3 cup of maida.
- It's 7 of tabl spn ghee.
- You need 12 of tabl spn pissi cheeni.
- It's 2 of tea spn Baking powder.
- You need half of tea spn baking soda.
- Prepare 1 of tea spn pisi sbz Elaichi.
- It's 1 of egg yolk.
- It's 2 of tea spn almonds sliced.
- It's 2 of tea spn pista sliced.
In its authentic recipe, ghee, maida, rava (sooji), gram flour (besan) and sugar are used but nowadays it is generally prepared without using gram flour and rava. The word Nankhatai is derived from Persian word Naan meaning bread and "Khatai" from a Dari Persian word meaning Biscuit. In Afghanistan and Northeast Iran, these biscuits are called Kulcha-e-Khataye. Kulcha is a type of Indian bread similar to Naan.
Naan Khataai instructions
- 1 mixing bowl me Maida baking soda baking powder chaan lein.
- 1 bowl me ghee or cheeni mix kar lein achi trah.
- Ab is me dry ajza mix kar ke dough ki trah gondh lein iliachi powder or pista badam dal dein.
- Choty choty balls bana kar hath sy press kar lein or baking tray ko grease kar ke set kar lein.
- Egg yolk ko mix kar ke brush sy lagadein or pre heated oven me 180 py 10 sy 15 minute bake kar lein.
- Garnish with sliced badam or pista Enjoy.
Combine flour, sooji, salt, powdered sugar, and vanilla essence in a large mixing bowl. Add ghee and mix until well blended. Knead until it forms a soft pliable dough.
