Butter Naan. Butter is quintessential to a delicious naan! Last, but not the least, Naan dough can be made vegan if you replace milk with coconut milk. If it was not for my love of authentic-butter-naan, I would have skipped butter and milk to keep the recipe "vegan" for you.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, soda and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, yogurt and honey. Add half of the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until the dough starts to come together. Even if you find Indian food too exotic and spicy, Naan is still loved by all.

Butter Naan step by step

  1. Take a vessel add maida, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar mix well..
  2. Now add curd, mix it well. Add water and knead the flour into dough..
  3. Cover it & leave for 30 mins.
  4. After 30 minutes knead the dough once again..
  5. Make dough balls..
  6. Take one dough ball and dust it with flour & roll it..
  7. Sprinkle kalonji & coriander leaves and roll it again..
  8. Use iron tawa for making naan.
  9. Keep water in a bowl..
  10. Heat the tawa, and take one naan and apply water on the back..
  11. Place it on tawa & cook it for few seconds on medium flame..
  12. Flip the tawa on direct flame..
  13. Cook it till it turns brown..
  14. Scratch it to remove the naan from tawa..
  15. Apply butter on naan..
  16. Now butter naan is ready to serve..

Its an Indian flat bread that is traditionally cooked in a hot tandoor oven. It can be had plain, brushed with butter, garlic, red pepper flakes, kalonji (onion seeds) or cilantro. It is made in triangular shape, sometimes oval or even round. Butter: and of course a good naan in my opinion has to be brushed with butter once done. So, from the ingredients list it is pretty obvious that you don't require any fancy ingredients for naan.
